Happy Holy Week!

This week felt very long to me but I did a lot of fun things and saw some miracles! I hope you all enjoy🎩

March 24, 26

It occurred to me that the Lord gave me mercy by putting me in Broomfield 3rd. It's a familiar area, I lowkey enjoy knocking a lot, and its smaller than Broomfield 1st! If this was my first area I was biking in I'd be so ungrateful but I've been biking like 10-15 minutes everywhere vs 45-90 minutes like I would've in Broomfield 1st. So big shout out to God for knowing me so well and granting mercy to me.

We also did pretty well today! Our weekly planning was long but in my defense, I had to train sister Samuel how to do some stuff so thats why it took longer.

Also the STLs came along to join us for weekly planning but idk why lol

After that, we had 2 hours before dinner to proselyte and we got 4 phone numbers in one block! We taught all of them, got one return appt, and passed out our 3 boms we had on us! It was so fun!

We had dinner from 7-8:40pm basically lol but the members were so clutch and helped us identify all the active member names they recognized! I also showed them the preach my gospel app and they were so impressed by all these new features I've had my whole mission lol (it was a couple in their mid 20s). Things that like customize the map to know where places have been knocked or where members live within the area. Its a pretty cool app lowkey once you know how to use it. 

New mattress

Oh I also got a new mattress🛌 Last transfer i literally slept with a big fat dip where it looks like a really fat elder must've sat a lot lol. So I've been sleeping pretty well since I dont have to sleep like I have scoliosis now.

March 25, 26

Walking interviews 

So President told this story about when he trained this elder that wasn't doing so hot on his mission thus far and he had this elder adopted all his habits and routines so he could improve as a human/missionary. Well one of these habits included running and he told us that he gave his red sweatsuit to his companion so they could go running together. One day, Elder Clawson wanted to run a 5k on a Saturday during pros time (not allowed btw). His companions showed concern for the rules but Elder Clawson insisted and considered it a form of finding. Little did they know that this race was being filmed and filmed for the only channel in all of Norway for his mission president's family to see. The children of the mission president recognize the missionaries and point it out to their dad. The mission president appoints the APs to ask Elder Clawson and his companion what they did on that Saturday and they got in trouble haha. But he was the only companionship to get on National TV in his mission!

Anywho, I thought it would be funny to show up in a red sweatsuit for our walking interviews the next opportunity I got😁 So my parents very graciously bought it for me and i showed up to presidents house in a very bright red sweatsuit. It lowkey didnt make him laughter but I got a smile and he understood the reference! So ill take it lol.

We went to Lamb of God!

It's this musical type thing with an orchestra and a choir where there are people who actually as the friends of Jesus and they sing from their perspectives of the “story” of Holy Week. No one sang Jesus’ part, on his friends like Mary Magdalene, John, Judas, and etc. I ended up crying at the part when Jesus died so it was super good if it can make me cry. Now I want that music on my phone so I can listen to it all the time. I think my friend Harper did that last year lol because we saw it in FL with the Orlando stake performing in the choir and she ended up just listening to the album on Spotify afterwards like through summer! So I wanna follow in her footsteps and do that too.

March 27, 26

We had an awesome mission meeting with Elder Hurst from the 70

He gave a lot of advice and these were some that stood out to me:

“You've got the perfect environment to wrestle with the spirit” (reference to being on a mission)

When something is hard or you see something you dont agree with just say “im going to make this a matter of faith”

“I trust in a God who calls people who are capable of making mistakes”

“I want to be the kind of disciple that acts on a prompting regardless of the outcome”

“ You cant be anything but a wise virgin when you rely on the Savior and His atonement”

Hes also British, which made it so much more entertaining to listen to him; and he told the story of how him and his wife met which I literally love hearing how couples met. So yea hes a great guy and sister graham told me on the 30th (so today as I write this), that she thinks the mission really needed to hear that since she has another perspective since she's in leadership now.

March 28, 26

So sister Martell and I did a day long split and it was fun! I got to be junior comp for the day while we did finding on CU campus, had a church tour, and then crashed a wards Easter party haha. After that, sister Samuel and I reunited and we got to work our area together for the rest of the night.

Rose and Ron

Okay so sister naa and sister Samuel were in our area yesterday and they were about to invite Ron to be baptized but he is already a member💀 So they asked if he knew anyone who might be interested in the church and he said his roommate Rose! They ended up coming to church today!! After church, a bunch of members stopped by and shook their hands and introduced themselves to Ron and Rose and then we had a lesson in the relief society room on the restoration! Sister Cole was there so we had an lmp and it was awesome! I used all the tools in my missionary toolbox (pb&j analogy & etc.), and it all made sense to her! I also made sure to help her identify what the Holy Ghost feels like and it also made sense! So we set a goal for her baptism and to her surprise, she has no work on Sunday for the next few sundays! It literally is just like falling into my lap at this point. So we give her a baptismal calender and we set up all the time we are going to meet with her leading up to her baptism and yea! Idk how likely she is to actually get baptized but I have hope! I really hope I can help Rose be baptized.

Whats even cooler too is that after getting her on date, we ended up helping Ron move his church records into our ward that day! We had them both meet the bishop and he knew exactly what to do to help them! We just sat back while we watched them connect with him and laugh and I just loved seeing it happen.

After that we talked with the bishop privately a little longer to talk about some other friends and he seemed just so pumped! He ended up telling us that

Okay such an eventful day already but its full of tea lol

So we had a 5k right? And so we got and a bunch of missionaries are there! I walked with a greenie, sister Erickson, and she super cool! We basically just chatted for an hour and we were assigned comps together during this thing cuz we both wanted to walk but shes super tall so she walked her regular speed and I got to speed walk so I felt like I was still getting a workout in lol.

Anywho we finish and we gather for quite literally hours! I got to talk to sister graham about just everything and it was so nice. She told me about drama in leadership, frogs, and her area. She also told me about tea that surrounded me lol and it was fun! I told her about my area and companion and all that. She ended up telling me too that since shes an STL, she can sync into literally any sisters area in the mission so she likes to check up on me and her other trainee sister Poole a lot! I am just so grateful shes in my life and cares about me enough to stalk me lol.

I also talked to sister Finch a good amount too! We had a lot of disagreements when we were comps so I apologized to her and I ended up asking her for advice on some things and it was really nice! She told me I'm not that humble yet lol (I asked her specifically if she's seen a change since we were comps) but she's noticed some kind of difference! I'm quite proud of that.

So that was like literally all morning and now we are at walmart getting groceries! Ive noticed my face has chubbed up a little so im trying really hard to eat healthy now lol. And I need to actually use our bikes more.

Then we went to goodwill but there was lowkey nothing good there so my STLs thrifted some stuff for their MLC meeting tomorrow, sister Samuel got some workout clothes and I left empty handed haha.

Im also restarting the Book of Mormon! Im doing 3 chapters a day roughly and will end at the end of June so id love it for some people to join me on that and id love to hear what you learn or any new insights yall receive😁
