A catholic priest & crashing a lesson
I think this email is definitely on the longer side so feel free to copy and paste this into a text reader to make it more bearable lol. Enjoy!

I recognize my weaknesses
We planned with our STLs this week because the last few times I weeky planned, it took all afternoon, when its supposed to take two hours😅 So I texted one of them for help and it was fun! We went to Red Robin, got unlimited dirty sodas and fries and locked in🗿 My problem is that we wanted to take a lot of time planning for our friends bcuz we care but then it ended up taking hours to do so. So, they helped us find a solid method to plan quickly and thoughtfully.
Along with that, after we planned for our friends and put in the times we have lessons and other concrete activities, I was bad at putting in finding time. Ive been in very different types of areas throughout my mission so far, so it was super helpful to hear how they plan! For finding time, their technique is putting in blocks of finding and traveling, then deciding what those finding activities are on the day of. I like this method because it allows for all the change that might happen throught a week, so when plans change because of a lesson or meeting, we don't have to change our whole day because we basically planned for it. I apologize if this doesnt make sense without visual aid but it might be helpful to someone🤷♀️
Satan almost got tim for a hot second
The DAY after we put Tim on date, he tells us he is super busy and doesnt think he can meet with us this week because he suddenly has a bunch of doctors appointments and whatnot because of a health condition. So after some talking it through, we agreed to take 15 minute phone calls everyday at 7:30pm to continue to teach him
Poor Aaron
A brother in our ward who became friends with Aaron, invited him to help a new sister move in! We were super excited to hear about that but the following day, he told us is back is SHOT and cant get up at all. Its apparently a generational thing in his family but its still affecting him over a week later (this part was written March 2 btw).
Wonderful dinner w bishops family
Basically, they were super loud and joked a lot and it reminded me of my family. Along with my family, when there is a serious moment, we can quiet down and lock in to allow the spirit to be there. It was very cool too see another family have the same dynamic mine does. Oh and also it was 3 generations living in the same house! Bishop Olsen and his wife, one of their daughters and her husband, and their 4 almost 5 kids! It a lot of people in a small house but so much love!
Knocked on the STLs lesson💀
We were told that the apartments in Lafayette were pretty knocked over but we didnt realize how much until the FIRST door we knocked on at this apartment complex was a lesson our STLs were having😭 We knocked, the woman opened the door, and she gestured to us to look inside and we saw our STLs at her table.😵💫 So we laughed, said hi, and left the complex immediately lol.
Call w tim (FEED THEM SHEEP)
After we left the complex, we called Tim for our daily 15 minute lesson. I forget but we either taught him lesson 1 or read 3 Nephi 11 with him on that phone call. Anyways, after we talked, we were able to help him start reading the book of mormon everyday by walking him through setting up an alarm on his phone to read it everyday at 5pm. Once the call ended, sister Churchill and I were super excited that we helped a friend read the bom everyday because thats one of the ways they can start to grow their testimony on their own!

Bro alma 47-49 is so tea
Ive been reading the bom with a goal of reading in in 3 months (jan 1-mar 31), and I read those chapters today and it was SO GOOD! I prayed to get a lot our of my personal study today and it worked! What I really liked is that amalekiah is exactly like Satan, so now I have a better idea how he works so I can defend myself against him better. And Moroni fortifying his city is like us preparing ourselves against Satan so I felt realy inspired to think about how I can defend myself better. Here's a link to a talk or sm that says basically the same thing: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/come-follow-me-for-home-and-church-book-of-mormon-2024/33?lang=eng
The wind bro💨😵💫
I mean at least its not cold, BUT THE WIND SUCKS! We have to be outside all the time bcuz we dont have a car and it is so hard to just have the weather affect me so much. The wind is my opp right now for that reason. I feel so out of it, like I cant think or see properly when the wind is so strong. And sister Churchill said thats a thing! Wind causes anxiety or something and I think it absolutely sucks. But im definitely adjusting to it!
Reeders are goated
They picked us up for dinner, took us out to a chinese restaurant, drove back to their house so we could call our friends for lessons, then drove us back home after we knocked around their neighborhood. They are so kind and willing to help us😭
It's a fight to keep tim on date
I forgot what I was going to say exactly but he is just so busy and is not keeping his commitment to read the bom but we are still working with him.
Got blessed by a catholic priest
This happened while we knocked around the Reeders house. By the time we opened the door, we already knew by his collar but sister Churchill invited him to church anyways and he responded kind like “oh i would but my hands are tied😬” but not exactly like that lol and then he blessed us by saying some prayer and pointing through cross along our faces and we said goodnight and moved on with our night.

New grandma acquired
Sister Merris is awesome! She moved in 2 days after we arrived in the ward, so we had our first sunday in the ward at the same time haha. Shes from Texas and moved to Colorado to be with her family. She also put in her mission papers to be a senior missionary in the CDNM!
Less active member work💪💪💪 // free haircut 💇♀️
Her granddaughter is less active but we were able to get to know her, and she offered to cut our hair if we needed it and I did! So I had my bangs trimmed in sister merris’ living room lol. After dinner, we shared a spiritual message (talking about alma 47-49), and invited sister merris, her daughter, and grand daughter to read the scriptures together as a family once a week, and they said yes! So I hope the granddaughter can slowly build back up her testimony.
NPT FINALLY // goated apartments
We have been having a lot of phone call lessons in the evening so we havent been able to go knocking, which is peak ppl finding time for me, so we didnt have any phone calls for an hour before the end of pros time; so we knocked these apartments that looked like they hadn't been knocked before and it worked out great! We picked up one person and got two more phone numbers as well.
New grandma drove us home w goodies
Sister Merris then picked us up from these apartments and brought left overs from the dinner in the car for us to bring home! Shes so nice😭

Temple pday yay
Well yea we had our temple pday lol. There were a lot of missionaries gathering outside and it was lowkey a disappointment bcuz the missionary friends I've made so far were not there☹️ So I had some light conversations with people while sister Churchill and I waited for our STLs to be done gathering basically. We ended up being there for so long that everyone left so sister Churchill took the opportunity to have me be her model and we took some pics while we waited for our STLs.
Canes😭🙏🍗
Sister Fawson wanted to go to Canes to celebrate her 18 months on the mission haha. It was so nice having canes I wont lie. And also soda😂 I havent had much this transfer because I have to use the restroom a lot more when I have soda so I cant be doing that without a car.
Car show
We saw a bunch of old cars that were pretty but meaningless to me unfortunately. Some of the cars there were the cars from the Ford vs Ferrari movie, like the cars that were raced and stuff. I wish I watched that movie before my mission now but I cant change that lol. Sister Churchill seemed to have a good time tho! I liked seeing her look at the engines on display and whatnot and seeing her gears turning trying to wrap her head around how each car worked.
CRAZY voice mail😵💫
We knocked these new apartments last night and we left pass along cards (small pictures of Jesus w church info and our phone number on the back) on doors that didnt answer us. Apparently, one lady got SO PISSED that she called the landlord, and sent us a voicemail threatening to sue if we ever came back.😂 We went back. But not to her specific apartment! Im just so incredibly shocked that she had so much passion about 19 yr old girls inviting people to church that he decided to take such drastic measures.
So many phone calls
We also had 3 phone call lessons set up tonight! One went long, one rescheduled, and one didn't even answer lol. It was all enjoyable though because we were at chick-fil-a away from the wind.
I realized though that I am starting to dislike teenagers lol. A lot of the time we were there, a bunch of teenagers were by us and kept yapping so loud so it was hard to focus at times and talk to our friend on the phone.

Had a call with Angela
We almost dropped her but i guess she wants to come to church! We also twyffwyt'ed her and her mom might be coming to stake conference with her tomorrow night lol
Aaron called us!
He texted that he couldnt call tn and we asked if we could call him for like 10 minutes before dinner and he ended up just calling! He said he felt bad or whatever but it was nice! We wanted to call him to send him the info for stake conference so we did what we sought out to do.
Lesson w tim
Taught him about the gospel of Jesus christ and he seems to still be on date for baptism
The Richards noted that he doesnt seem to be understanding what we say and I lowkey agree but he just needs to know enough to get baptized, not all of it. He really just needs the spirit to confirm truth and thats it🤷♀️

Split
We split from 2-5pm and I was with sister fawson in her area! It was nice to not be in charge and also not do anything since we just did stop bys the whole time.
Dinner
We were dropped off at the stake center so we could eat dinner there and wait till we had our lesson with Angela. What didnt occur to me, is that Elder Brown was teaching to the stake leadership! So we were able to listen to their training while we at dinner in the primary room😂 After we ate, there was more time left so we decided to stand by the doors in the back to watch Elder brown give his training. He told everyone to pair up and discuss something and during that discussion time, he came up and talked to ME! He said he recognized me and asked how my brothers were doing! He didn't have time, but the fact that he took any amount of time to talk to me meant the world! And I kept telling sister Churchill about my many interactions with him and now she has proof😂
Stake conference
Elder Brown spoke and it was so powerful! He told us about this dream he had every night from when he was 10 years old to 16 years old where he would be dreaming and a man in the corner with a white suit on was always protecting him. He never got to see his face but he recognized him as such. He at some point learned more about his dad that passed away from his mom and he was able to find his father's grave (after MANY miracles he told us about) and do his temple work. After he did that, the dream went away. He said he has never felt fatherless after that. He told us that since then, he has been doing as much family history work because he knows his father is on the other side of the veil teaching his family. He then said it feels like a handshake between the veil when he is able to take family names to the temple.
The way Elder Brown spoke too was so engaging! He almost literally jumps for joy for Jesus because he has so much raw emotion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I hope to reach that point some day in my lifetime.
Ice cream
It's a tradition that after the adult session of stake conference, President Clawson always takes out the missionaries for ice cream. And he brought Elder Brown with him!😂 It was so surreal.
March 1, 26
Stake conference
We had the general session of stake conference and that meant I heard Elder Brown speak a total of 3 times in two days! Super cool. We weren't able to get any friends to church today but its okay. Because of that, it think I was more able to focus on what was being said.
Music devotional
Sister Churchill was wrangled into playing the prelude music for our missions music devotional because I bragged to him that she can play super well, AND SHE CAN!! There's like playing what you see on the paper, but she adds so much more flair and fanciness that I love so much!
Since we were already there, I helped sister Peterson flip the pages on a group number song while she played the piano so I ended up singing 🤷♀️ It was fun!
Gathering
It was soooo fun! I got to see sister graham, sister Na'a, sister Kooteti, and many others! The coolest part is that I was able to take a 4 generational photo of my “mission family”. This included: myself, sister Churchill, sister graham, and sister songoimoli (sister grahams trainer). I am quite happy I got to take that photo😌
Bad news
It's not that bad actually but we left the Addison building at 10pm and it took an hour to drive home😅 Plus im writing my email now so its 11:30pm AND we have to get up at 4:30am tomorrow morning to go on a hike as a zone. So fun! But so tiring. Anywho, I will be consuming mass quantities of caffeine tomorrow.
March 2, 26
We woke up at 4:30am, and left at 5am to drive to a hike 30 minutes away. It was very cold and windy but we got some decent photos! I am still not a fan of hiking but apparently this one wasn't that bad. It was only 30 minutes up and I heard of a hike that President went on with other missionaries that was 5 hours in the snow😭 Maybe it's just because I hail from flat earth land (Florida), but hikes just seem so pointless I guess lol. You drive to a place just to walk on a crazy incline so you can take pictures or something. It was fun, but nothing I don't think I'll ever do on my own.
After that, we went to IHOP where we had breakfast at 7:30am, still before pday time lol. My breakfast ended up being a grand total of $22 and I wish we went to chickfila but it was still fun lol. I enjoyed hanging out with my zone.
Once that was done, we went to sister Peterson and Martells apartment to pick up some clothes that were left at their apartment and we drove to Sister Closet!
I didnt get anything but I went because I wanted to see sister Graham😁 Sister Churchill was able to meet her for the first time last night and she told me she was looking forward to seeing sister graham too! I was able to spill some tea with sister graham and it was so nice.
After that, we went to walmart and king soopers for groceries, dropped them off at our apartments, then drove to the rest of our zone pday where we played sand volleyball, and duck duck goose. I played volleyball for a solid 30 minutes then I got tired and my feet were in SO MUCH PAIN😭 Apparently Colorado grass is out to murder your feet because when I ran to go grab the ball I was barefoot because I didnt want sand in my shoes and it ended up biting me in the butt big time. So I played uno with an elder right by the sand court, then wrote my email until it was time to go.
Now, we are back home, im finishing my email as fast as I can, and we have dinner and the rest of the night to proselyte lol.
I hope you all get time to rest this week,
Sister Moghimi
