Denver Tour Pt2 & Big Daddy's Pizza

Hello hello hello! It's finally pday! This week felt very long but it was a good week! I got to go on the denver tour again and on Saturday we got 15 phone numbers in a day!! 

Oh also I deleted Facebook and I feel holier than ever.😁

It seems like every day this transfer nothing has gone the way I planned it to

Idk how to adjust my brain on that but it seems to be very necessary 

I called my family from 9:30am to 11am then we went to walmart to go shopping

We had to walk our groceries home😭 it was 20 minutes of slow torture and my bread ended up looking like it had scoliosis based on the way it looked once I took it out of the bag

Ollie also told me all about his patriarchal blessings and WOW!! He has great thing is in future! Hard things potentially, but great things too!

Then after pday we decided it was a good idea to use the bus up to the northern part of our area just to get right back down lol

We assumed we wouldnt be doing any actual finding because we needed to get used to the buses before we plan them into our days but we met a man named Elio! We went back on his bus on our way back and we started talking after he realized we were “mormons” as he called us. He told us hes read the bom twice and feels more comfortable with Mormons than most other people since he grew up around so many. He said he feels like a mormon too lol. We eventually found out that he doesn't live in our area and lives in Denver. We will have to send his dot off but I hope he gets baptized!

We were dropped off at our closest bus stop at 8:30pm and walked 10 minutes home and we agreed to fully lock in until 9pm in our apartment. We weren't supposed to be in our apartment till 9pm but it was so windy! So we lowkey had to or like it was the wisest choice.

Anywho yea today was totally different but I want to start making the best of it ASAP. 

February 11, 26

Man im tired

We had DC from 10:15am to 12:30pm and it was so tiring (district council is only like an hour typically btw)

Ap Tripp gave us a training on talking about baptism on the first interaction 

I was confused on it then we were asked to go do this and try to get people on date on the first interaction😭

We went to CU campus and it was so weird talking to people my same age

We got two phone numbers but thats it

We had a phone call lesson that lasted from 6:30pm to 8:30pm😵 

We even were supposed to go on a split with the STLs but didnt since it went so long

We had the wonderful gneitings there with us which was so nice too! Brother gneiting asked to come with us when we had dinner at their house and they were such a help!

At the end, we tried to set a date but he isn't ready. We asked what he is looking for to be ready and he couldn't give us an answer.

The STLs ended up leaving lol but yea we called them and they told us we will split another night

So we biked home and texted Aaron to ask if we could meet more frequently so it wouldn't be for as long

Sister graham also gave me a sticker she said she was going to make! She also wrote a note and gave me some words of encouragement and advice I needed, so thank you sister graham!.

Today was so busy and hard and its 10:30 so imma write bullet points and hopefully I write down more for my email on Sunday

Denver tour

I had my second denver tour!

Since sister Churchill is a greenie, I got to go with! We sat through long trainings but some young missionaries had some trainings and made it entertaining 

S. Poole & Jenkins

Sister Poole and sister Jenkins were there and they made it more fun for me personally 

I know of sister Poole because she was trained by sister graham right before I was trained by her so shes my mission sister😂 She and sister Jenkins did a training about having a growth mindset and that gave them the ability to go on the denver tour with us! I enjoyed their company along with everyone else

Elder kipp is one of the greenies on the denver tour and he is a nerd about photography so I asked him to take pictures of me at Larimer square so hopefully I can have a goated profile picture soon

I loved going on the denver tour again though! I kept thinking like “oh I remember doing this when I was a greenie” as if that wasn't 3 months ago💀

Remembering the bike collision

When I went on my first denver tour, before we went into the brown palace (an old and fancy hotel), there was someone on a bike and someone on a scooter collided with someone on a bike, and the lady on the bike went FLYING! So it was funny to remember that and show sister Churchill the intersection it happened by.

Then we had more finding after the denver tour and I was already super tired but once I started finding I felt fine lol.

Im super unaware of my surroundings

There have been multiple times this transfer where im tired and the sun is super bright so I don't end up looking around very much and sister Churchill has pulled me away from being ran into by a car a few times. I think theres some trope or stereotype in TV shows where theres like a smart person whose really dumb in all other aspects and then their companion or sidekick that assists them in those other aspects and I feel like that is my dynamic with sister Churchill.

Saw a lady with a needle in her arm

We went knocking in the afternoon at some apartments we haven't been at yet and there was one lady that could barely open the door, she was trying to pull her small dog away from us, and I noticed she was drooling lowkey. I thought it was like a mental handicap thing but after we got out of the building, sister Churchill told me SHE HAD A NEEDLE IN HER ARM😭 Another example of me not being aware of my surroundings. Im also blessed nothing bad happened to us.

Im so tired this transfer

Maybe its cuz im in charge or cuz we are on bikes but I have been so tired this whole transfer🥱 So I probably need to adjust when i go to bed or something cuz being tired is like torture to me.

Oh also i love that my companion cooks for me

Sister Churchill literally just cooks all of our meals for us, and she seems happy to do it! So yea big shout out to the best greenie ever

I deleted Facebook/ muted stories on messenger/ & started using Embark to cope

Well my little title is basically it. I noticed I could be more focused than I am so I deleted Facebook and muted the story of everyone I follow so I can focus on missionary work more. It's very disappointing not being connected with my friends but im literally all the way in Colorado, that is to be expected lol.

We used the bus so much today 

Our area is like 3x the size of the average biking area because our ward had 2 merges last year so to go north or west of our area, it takes an hour or more to bike either direction. So we started using the busses! It was a little stressful and included a good amount of waiting at connecting bus stops but it was cool! Definitely would still prefer a car though.

Mall finding cooks bro

We got 15 phone numbers on the 14th and most of them were at the mall! There were so many people there and I think it was possible that we got that number because of my sacrifice to delete Facebook. Could be totally unrelated but that is my hypothesis.🤷‍♀️

I need to learn Spanish bruh

We keep running into people who speak Spanish and Ive had enough of these experiences where I decided that i need to learn at least a few sentences to get a phone number and send it to the Spanish missionaries in our zone. Super good problem to have though! So I downloaded Embark, the church's app for missionaries who are learning a second language.

Dinner @ the mall💀

We had dinner at the food court and sister Churchill briefly talked to some lady then asked to sit with her and her daughter. I didnt want to and the daughter didnt want to but it was a good experience I guess lol. The daughter and I ended up taking basically the whole time and we didnt attempt to pick them up but just to talk to them while we had dinner and sister Churchill thinks that we successfully planted a seed, and I agree! If our church is brought up to those two in the future, they can remember us and remember how we treated them (hopefully we left a good taste in their mouth).

Uneasy feeling while knocking 

Sunday, we only had the evening to go knocking and we went to the closest apartments to us and we felt uneasy the whole time but didnt have any other place to go that was better since we would have to bike there. So yea that was fun.

Pday eve brownies yay

And sister Churchill made brownies to celebrate pday eve haha

She apparently didnt have the right ingredients to make them but we used meta Ai and sister Churchill big brain and they turned out so good!

Our STLs took us shopping and to Big Daddy's Pizza

We asked for a ride to walmart to do shopping and they took us! Not only that, they drove us back home to drop off our groceries, then we went to this pizza place sister Fawson has wanted to go to since last transfer because of its hilariously bad reviews. And it wasn't half bad😂 The pizza was a half step above little chasers and their cheesecake was very dry but a solid 4.5/10 when I was expecting a 2/10.

And now im back home finishing my email so then I can call my parents😁

I hope you all have a great week and listen to the Talking Heads for me this week since its my favorite band😁👍
