I learned Im quite emotional lol

Good morning! Ya girl has an early email now😁 I have written down highlights and just major events from this week. I hope yall enjoy! And im not offended if you have to put my post into chatgpt to summarize like my brother does, I know I write a lot haha.

December 8
Almost got murdered
After Pday on Monday, we did a lesson and some stopbys. One of them was Micheal, who we later learned is a member but at the time we thought he was someone just interested in the church. We drove over to knock on his door and got confused which one it actually was and I freaked out when sister graham told me she's been to that door before! I took pictures (with her consent) of her journal that day so yall could see my suffering from sister grahams perspective
Yep so I freaked out and it was super funny to sister graham. I was so scared tho😭 I truly thought we were going to knock on the door of a murderer. The Lord takes care of us though so im glad he moved😅

December 9
Kelsey got her mission call🥲
One of my closest friends back at home got her mission call! I wanted to so badly to be on her zoom call that day but it wasn't during my dinner hour so I couldn't.😭 I was told by her and my family though that she's serving in Las Vegas spanish speaking! Shes gonna have so much fun serving others, teaching, and meeting new people! I cant wait when she starts her own email list so I can be on it haha

December 10
Called the police when I should've been doing pstudy
I hadn't taken personal study very seriously up until now and December 9th was the day I decided to start taking pstudy more seriously. Satan's funny though because that morning a little before I should've started my pstudy, there were people in the apartment directly above us loudly stomping arguing, and yelling like “hey stop hitting me!” and “give me my phone back!” This went on for at least 5 minutes and we decided to call the non emergency police number to let them know what was going on. I tried to focus back on pstudy then one of the island sisters told me one of the people from upstairs were coming downstairs and we saw her crying like crazy. A nice white dude on a bike was there and started talking to her and consoling her and let her use his phone to call the police. Then I tried to sit back down and do pstudy. Like 5-10 minutes later we see multiple police officers, a fire truck, and I think an ambulance all at the bottom of our apartment😭 How am I supposed to focus on the word of God with such juicy drama happening?! Anywho, they were outside for a while and I got bored so I ended up having a solid 30 minutes to reach my Preach My Gospel before we started our day.

Sister graham called the police after a car accident while on a split
And then later today we had a split with the STLs (sister training leaders, they are in charge of all the sisters in a zone) who are Spanish speaking and while hermana Sandoval was with sister graham they ended up getting into a tiny car accident with a dude who spoke only spanish! So sister graham was driving and she went into a lane that has a yield sign to turn and she looks to her left before she turns and there's a truck SPEEDING right by her! She slams her breaks and the front of the car isn't touched at all, the guy behind her tho is an idiot I guess lol and assumed she went and started majorly speeding up but ends up hitting the back part of her car that connects like trailers and bike racks, not even the car! That was miracle #1. Miracle #2 was when they got out of the car, the dude only spoke spanish! With sister Sandoval, they were able to successfully get his information and especially so because of her spanish, she was able to understand that the guy really just wanted to leave without documenting it and sister sandoval stood her ground and insisted they get it to properly document the accident. If I was with sister graham I think we would've been too nice by accident and let him leave too quickly.

Sister Abarca and I found this out after we met back up. Initially we only heard that they got into a car accident but they were safe. They were still talking to the guy so we didn't get to receive their location until it was all done. So we got that info but didn't know where to go so sister abarca pulled into a Maverick and did contacts in the meantime. Eventually she got the idea to surprise our companions with their favorite treats because they were probably stressed from this experience. I got sister graham a sugary dr pepper and reeces Christmas trees! We didn't go shopping on Monday because of our super fun pday to the U.S. mint and museum so she wasn't able to buy reeces Christmas trees this week and she was sad because of it so I was super happy to find them at Maverick! Sister abarca got sister sandoval a sugary coke and popcorn.
We then got where they parked after this whole ordeal and we arrived 15 minutes later. It was super fun surprising sister graham! I like giving gifts and she seemed nearly brought to tears over these treats which is like the best reaction to receive. It made the purchase totally worth it.
We then asked what happened and they told us the story and it was fun to have them share their trauma haha because it seemed to unite for 4 of us for a little bit.

December 12
Felt like I almost died after a pickup pic
It's a trend in my mission to take a fun picture and add related but funny hash tags to the photo so you can upload it to your zones groupchat and like be excited for each other that everyone is picking up new people to teach. So sister graham and I did just that then after since we took the picture on a playground we saw a thing thats like the spinning cups at Disney and I got so sick from spinning😭 We had to take a solid 10 minute break to allow me to recoup and I still didnt feel 100% back to normal

Then I felt better once we went knocking
I mustered up enough strength to tilt my car seat back up to drive to where we were going knocking and then we took another break because my head still kinda hurt. Like an angel visiting me, President Clawson sent a video in the missions groupchat basically saying that when you go out to proselyte, the words will fill your mouth even if you dont know what to say beforehand. The spirit also whispered to me that if I got out of the car to proselyte, I would feel better. And I did! Once we were away from the car, I felt 100% back to normal. Im taking this as a lesson to not let how you feel to dictate going out and working.

We used Google translate to ask people to come to church with us
It seems like the places we choose to go knocking have patterns to them. We knocked a whole apartment complex and a lot of them said they were Muslim😂 Then while we knocked at this trailer park, a lot of people only spoke spanish💃 We dont speak Spanish so I whipped out my phone and we used Google translates ‘live translation’ feature which was so cool! We got one guys information and then we sent it over to the hermanas in our area and they had a lesson with him! Idk what will happen to him but it was fun communicating with that Spanish guy despite our language barrier

December 13
Transfer news🥲
We got to stay out late as a zone to watch a meteor shower then we had a short testimony meeting. During the last persons testimony, I felt a buzz from my phone and looked to sister graham if she felt a buzz too and she did!! I got so anxious to open my phone to look but since we were out in the dark (so we could see the meteors), I didnt look at my phone otherwise everyone literally would've been looking at me lol.
This is the hot cocoa we bought to watch the meteor shower in the freezing cold (like 34 degrees)

We waited till we got to the car then we raced to see where we were going! Im going to the Parker south stake and sister graham is going to the Denver north stake. Literally opposite directions of where we are now😭
It look me a while to grow to like sister graham but now I love her! Im so sad that we are being separated. Shes my first companion and I feel like shes a part of my Colorado experience so its hard to part ways. I ended up crying a lot that night lol.

December 14
Christmas devotional!
Maybe its unique to my mission, maybe not, but our mission puts together music devotions at Easter, around the time of Joseph Smiths first vision, and Christmas! Missionaries audition to perform songs related to the event then President Clawson chooses which ones he wants for the devotional.
I was quite shocked for a lot of the songs! One guy played electric guitar before his mission and you could totally tell. He SHREDDED on acoustic guitar! And one girl sang so well that I felt like I was in the recording studio with her. Another girl sang and played guitar for a Christmas song that had some country twang to it and it was my favorite out of the whole devotional.
The best part is that they record everyone and then splice the long video into individual songs for us missionaries to have so we can listen to it later on! Im so excited to listen to it all again haha
Oh also I forgot to mention is that this devotional is put on so we can invite the friends we are teaching to come. Regular members typically dont get invites😁

Last time we saw the Nuffers
The Nuffers are a family in my ward that I grew to love. They first had us over with the rest of their family at thanksgiving, then later when it was just brother and sister nuffer and brother nuffers sister and her husband. They remind me of my parents in the best way. They're chill, like to joke, and are entrepreneurs like my parents. I might've mentioned this but I thought it was so funny that their hobbies also can make them money too along with their AC business.
They had us over yesterday with one of their sons and his family over too. They made Navajo tacos which kinda like a beignet but then you add chili and other taco toppings instead of powdered sugar. It was super good and they gave us chili and the beignet looking thing to bring home!
That was the last time I'll see them probably so I made sure to follow them on Facebook and they said they want to visit me in Florida after my mission😂 Idk if that'll actually happen but it would be super cool if it did.
Here's the graham cracker house I made at their house

December 15
And now today we are basically just packing for moving to our next apartments and hopefully doing something fun as well.
Sister graham has told me multiple times though that she LOVES packing😂 It makes sense to me for one reason, she has adhd. My theory is that she likes to organize other things cuz she can't organize her brain lol.

Alright! Next time I talk to y'all I'll be in a new location with a new companion! I can't wait to meet her and tell y'all all about her and my new adventures❤️

Love ya!
