First Two Days Done
Good evening friends!
I chose to write this late at night because I wanted to experience as much as I could as a missionary before I shared it with you.
Monday was my first day of classes online and it went as I expected haha. I got to know my teachers, my district (group of missionaries I learn with), and how my schedule is set up. Because I'm in an eastern time zone and Utah is a Mountain time zone, I'm up from 8:30am to 12:30am 😂 Its odd staying up so late but at the same time its nice to sleep in till 8:30am.
My schedule yesterday went as follows:
8:30am - wake up, pray, workout, shower, eat breakfast, study for an hour
10:30am-1:30pm - Zoom class with Sister Howell and my district (we get 10 minute breaks every hour)
2pm-3pm - Welcome to the mtc workshop (it had nearly 500 people in that zoom call)
3pm - lunch
3:30pm-6:30pm - Zoom class with Brother Daw and my district
7:30pm - dinner
9:45pm-10:45pm - Teach by the spirit workshop
The classes generally were very basic like telling you what Preach My Gospel is, what it means to be a missionary, the importance of studying, etc. It was all good but what I did not like is that the teachers in these zoom calls force us into breakout rooms with missionaries and force us to discuss questions given to us for what feels like a very long time. I already don't like the awkwardness of zoom but this makes it 100% worse for me. Yet, I'll still do it because I literally signed up for it.
One thing I appreciate about zoom though is that I get to know my district before coming in person to the mtc. I've already met my companion over zoom and she seems cool so I'm not nervous at all to go.
While I'm not nervous to go, I am still nervous to leave my family. Its a weird feeling knowing I'll be leaving my family for so long. I wish I could just stay kind of but I still feel called to the work. My prayer is that it will get easier and I'll be reassured my family is okay even if I'm not there.
Moving on, something that's been fun so far has been wearing my missionary clothes! I've been buying dress shirts, dress pants, and dresses for when I became a missionary but I never wore them around the house because I like couch rotting in comfy clothes better than dress clothes, so it's been nice having a reason to dress up.
Anywho, those are just some of my thoughts from these past few days and I hope you enjoyed them. Next week I probably wont have new photos because i'll likely be writing my email at the airport but the following week I hope to have some fire pics for y'all at the mtc!
Also feel free to comment on this or email me separately, I'd love to hear from you guys too!
With love,
Sister Moghimi
