HMTC And flight to Utah

I started writing a personal journal for myself so I can look back at my week and tell you guys about it more effectively. So here’s the highlights: Goose and Rooster were in my room a lot this week and it felt like a tender mercy to me because I wouldn’t have gotten any time with them considering they are typically downstairs and I was upstairs all week. It felt a little lonely being upstairs but being downstairs also meant that my mom and brother heard my very word while in classes lol. People have asked me “oh how do you like home mtc?” And my answer has been it’s pretty boring but it started to pick up! We started basically acting out scenarios of how we would teach lessons based on the amount of time we had and to different kinds of people. It was definitely weird doing this with my companion but when you jump over that hurdle, it was highly effective. I feel a lot more confident than last week in my abilities, alongside with the holy ghosts help, to teach lessons that won’t ...

First Two Days Done

Good evening friends! I chose to write this late at night because I wanted to experience as much as I could as a missionary before I shared it with you. Monday was my first day of classes online and it went as I expected haha. I got to know my teachers, my district (group of missionaries I learn with), and how my schedule is set up. Because I'm in an eastern time zone and Utah is a Mountain time zone, I'm up from 8:30am to 12:30am 😂 Its odd staying up so late but at the same time its nice to sleep in till 8:30am.  My schedule yesterday went as follows: 8:30am - wake up, pray, workout, shower, eat breakfast, study for an hour 10:30am-1:30pm - Zoom class with Sister Howell and my district (we get 10 minute breaks every hour) 2pm-3pm - Welcome to the mtc workshop (it had nearly 500 people in that zoom call) 3pm - lunch 3:30pm-6:30pm - Zoom class with Brother Daw and my district 7:30pm - dinner 9:45pm-10:45pm - Teach by the spirit workshop The classes generally were very basic l...

My Farewell talk

I wanted to let anyone who didn't have the opportunity to hear my Farewell talk be able to read it if they wish, so here it is!  My 9th grade biology teacher told my class that he taught us the same concept three times and in different ways so it would be etched into our brains a little deeper each time. Today, I would like to share the three main ways my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ was etched into my brain in three main points.  I’ve had experiences where I’ve felt the Holy Ghost and had positive experiences serving and sharing the gospel but what was a real catalyst to my testimony today was when I had to talk to bishop about some of my previous sins. I was at a point where I had to make a choice whether I wanted to talk about this and repent or decide it wasn’t important to me, and I decided it was. I (reh-con-siled) reconciled with the lord by following the instructions that bishop gave me and it changed my life honestly. After taking the steps to repent and ge...
